Merchandise Design for Rosanna Inc.

Rosanna is an international award-winning tableware & home decor design house based in Seattle, WA. I served as a designer on the small but mighty team from 2015 to 2017 and led the development of several tableware collections, decor products, and packaging solutions for Rosanna Inc. and their exclusive clients.

Holiday 16/17

For the Holiday season of 2016, the Creative team at Rosanna was particularly inspired by the rise of 1920’s-inspired Art Deco design and artwork, both riding on the tail of the glamorous new Great Gatsby film, and with the trend forecast of a continued appreciation and revival of the style as we move toward the new roaring twenties in 2020. Taking this collection on as my own, I created a decadant series of Art Deco reminiscent typography, glimmering seamless surface patterns, and foil-emblazoned packaging that can be best enjoyed with a brimmingaa glass of champagne and an appeciation for decadance and glitz.

I was brand new to the team at Rosanna when we began working on the Summer 2016 collection of merchandise. I dove into developing surface patterns that would lend themselves to summertime patio parties. Inspired by the recent rise of the jumbo flamingo pool floatie, I created a simple golden flamingo motif to jazz up a glittering pitcher to be filled with pitchers full of cold, refreshing drinks. Posed with the challenge of adding in new dinner plate designs that work well in layering with colorful salad or dessert plates, I chose to bring in a tasteful greek key pattern for creating.

Inspired by the concept of the charm bracelet, I created this collection of mini trays and ring dishes to celebrate special milestones and giftable moments in life, and to show those you care for that you’re thinking of them. I leaned into classic dots, stripes, and simple vector shapes to keep these feminine and joyful pieces feeling timeless.
